He seemed like a totally different person than that lost, rebellious boy who treated his sister bad.

The scope of Tokyo Ghoul is much smaller than Tokyo Ghoul:re, which the anime is often able to use to its advantage. The first season is nice, but since season 2 and the rest are nothing like the manga, you would face countless scenes that wouldn't make any sense! It shows this complex world get pushed to ruin and ponders if there is any hope for survival in a murky future. The original season of Tokyo Ghoul has to tackle a lot in a short amount of time, but the focus that it applies to the material that it adapts does it a lot of justice. There are some really thrilling moments that hit even harder because of the absurd abilities that Tokyo Ghoul establishes. I'm so glad Hide existed because he was literally the glue (along with Kaneki of course) that brought the ghouls and CCG together. Kaneki is constantly struggling throughout this story and being able to see his thoughts (which were incredibly relatable) truly made this story great. All the characters who cared for him and we’re waiting for him to wake up are proof that he deserved his happy ending.

Nishio said himself, after seeing what Kaneki turned into, that even he didn’t think ghouls should exist. There’s a true level of spectacle to the battles that take place, whether they involve demons or humans.

I knew since part 1 when Amon was captured that he and Kaneki would meet again, but not as enemies and that Amon would become essentially what he dedicated his life to killing. The complexity of the characters, the backstories, the intertwining of lives, the manipulation, the revenge, and the story-telling were impeccable.Honestly, if one doesn't enjoy the wonderful personal growth of every single character in this story, then i really don't know what one can enjoy in their lives. The Commission of Counter Ghoul is the only organization fighting the Ghoul menace, and they will use every tool at their disposal to protect humanity from its ultimate predator. Our favourite couple FINALLY finally finally develop a relationship worthy of crying and writing about. Due to this transition and a number of new directors and character designers, there's definitely a new look to Tokyo Ghoul:re. my favorite manga series ever, though the ending was a bit unsatisfying it is still good and ties up most loose ends!

The wait between Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul:re was so long and excruciating that by the time the series came around fans were just eager to get closure.Trapped between two worlds, he must survive Ghoul turf wars, learn more about Ghoul society and master his new powers. I think the best character was Amon and I’m SO GLAD he and Kaneki got to reunite after everything, and just that whole chapter of him, Akira, Touka and Kaneki was what I was WAITING for. A really great sequel series to tokyo ghoul, I loved how the story started out with Haise Sasaki and the Quinx squad. But, I was impressed by the author’s ability to tie everything together at the end and make the story unforgettable.
