Anachronism Stew: The lodge is trapped in 1986, which means we get to see a lot of outdated clothes and ideas. Author Mariko Tamaki and artist Gus Allen expanded the series into a four-book series of middle-grade novels, published by Amulet Books: [14] Go Seduce My Archnemesis: A heroic version; the entire escape plan depends on Kyle pretending to be Louise's crush. DC's Saved by the Belle Reve - This is an anthology book that includes the first official Gotham Academy story by the original creative team since Gotham Academy Second Semester! As I'm writing, this is the last of the major Gotham Academy stories.

Falling Chandelier of Doom: Maps accidentally creates one when deflecting a Chaperone's electric blast. It takes care of at least two others. Gotham Academy Vol. 3: Yearbook - This trade is honestly non-essential reading in my opinion. It doesn't further the plot established by the previous books, but is more of a fun anthology series. It features short stories created by many artists/writers starring the cast of Gotham Academy, plus a fun standalone issue written by the original Gotham Academy creators. Collects Gotham Academy #13-18 plus Gotham Academy Annual #1 A number of students are convinced a ghost is haunting the grounds and they decide to investigate: Scooby-Doo! Our protagonist is Olive, a cute girl who broke up with a cute boy over the summer and is shyly courting another cute boy: Dawson’s Creek! And let’s crowbar in an extremely kid-friendly Batman subplot too! So what’s the story of Gotham Academy? Er… stuff happens? With that out the way, I still say this is a poor comic for reasons beyond me not being in the target audience. I don’t know how a tween girl thinks, never will and have no interest in finding out, but I’m going to guess that they look for the same things most people who read for pleasure look for: good story and characters. And Gotham Academy has neither. A graphic novel about the most prestigious school in Gotham City. But of course, this is Gotham City we are talking about so this school is a bit ... special!Greater-Scope Villain: Louise's parents, who cast a spell on her and the entire lodge so that she could be happy.
