A single mosquito bite is all it takes for someone to become infected. Symptoms of malaria It’s important to be aware of the symptoms of malaria if you’re travelling to areas where there’s a high risk of the disease. Symptoms include: 1. A high temperature of 38C or above 2. Feeling hot and shivery 3. Headaches 4. Vomiting 5. Muscle pains 6. Diarrhoea Symptoms usually appear between 7 and 18 days after becoming infected, but in some cases the symptoms may not appear for up to a year, or occasionally even longer. You should still seek medical help even if it’s several weeks, months or a year after you return from travelling. This should be borne in mind when concomitant administration is considered. Rennie is suitable for use when suffering from heartburn during pregnancy or when breastfeeding if taken as instructed. No increased risks of congenital defects have been observed after the use of this product during pregnancy. Rennie should not be used in patients with hypercalciuria (see also section 4.3). Prolonged use increases the risk of formation of renal calculi. Calcium carbonate has a rapid and powerful neutralising action. This effect is increased by the addition of magnesium carbonate which also has a strong neutralising action.

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Calcium and magnesium are excreted in human milk, but at therapeutic doses of the product no effects on the breastfed newborns/infants are anticipated. Rennie deflatine tablets contain three active ingredients: calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, which are both antacids, and simeticone, which is an anti-foaming agent. Stomach acid is produced in the stomach as a normal part of the digestive process, but too much can cause symptoms such as heartburn, indigestion and wind. The antacids in Rennie deflatine work by binding to and neutralising excess stomach acid, which helps to relieve the pain and discomfort. Antacids work as soon as they reach the stomach.
