About this deal

But they all have one thing in common, they bring products on the market that are really unbeatable cheap, and often there are even tons of accessories included. Now let’s see if that’s any good. Mksutary 12×25 Poro Prism Binoculars The same applies to the color fidelity of the image. With everyday observations, the colors appear a little colder through the binoculars than in reality. But in no way disturbing. However, the optical performance of binoculars depends not only on the magnification and the lens diameter but also to a much greater extent on the quality and processing of the optical glass. If you have any questions about purchasing aluminium box or square tubing, need advice on an upcoming metalwork project, or you’d like to speak to our sales team, get in touch on 01937 534 318.

If you plan on heavy binocular use and want peace of mind from a Limited Lifetime Warranty, we recommend purchasing from a big brand like Celestron or Nikon. The specs and claims from Occer don't quite match up and we would only know the real durability of this pair after a few months of constant use. There are quite a few of the 12×25 compact roof prism binoculars mentioned, all of which look pretty much the same and also have pretty similar specifications. When you read the product description, they advertise and promise a lot for very little money. Most of them brag with professional, high performance, FMC, low light, night vision, and so on. These optics are suitable for observing objects at mid-range and long distances. Particularly, they are a decent choice for birding and a bit of stargazing. They may not be as powerful as high-end models, but they provide a far better viewing experience than the naked eye. They have fold-up eyecups and therefore, have two positions: up or down. The eye relief of 15mm is a tad short for spectacles wearers and best avoided unless users are happy to use the binoculars without eyeglasses on. The right eyepiece has a diopter compensation, it only says +/- on a small scale. The rubber eyecups pop out with a twist by about 1/20 of an inch (6 mm), which is sufficient given the short eye relief. An exact specification regarding the eye relief was not given in the product description either. I then just allowed myself an approximate estimate. With the help of a strip of paper and a light source, I get about 10 to 12 mm. In terms of quality, the image is clear enough to see details of objects and follow their movements 300-450 feet away. A decent image at that too. But there’s some aberration and distortion at the edges that will gnaw at pro users’ needs.

When looking for compact binoculars that perform well in the field, magnification is one of the most important factors to consider other than the actual weight of the product. Models with a magnification of 8x or 10x are the best choices. They strike a good balance between power and weight. The Occer 12x25s are popular–at least they seem to sell really well–because they have a very appealing price compared to more expensive brands. That immediately draws attention to the question of its quality, and therefore more relevantly, to its usefulness. These binoculars are suitable as all-around binoculars for anyone who wants to see far stuff a little closer, without expecting great optical performance. The low price makes them particularly attractive for beginners or nature lovers who leisurely want to observe wild animals, scenery and nature, or sporting events. As a pair of binoculars for kids, we think they fare better than the similarly priced National Geographic 6x21 binoculars which we've also reviewed because of the increased size of objective lenses, even if we can't tell precisely how much higher. The Occers also have a closer minimum focusing distance so they can be used in and around the house to look at things 'just for fun.' Whereas, with the National Geographic pair you need to be stood a reasonably long way away, which some children might find frustrating. If the Occer 12x25 compact binoculars aren't for you: One of the major issues with the Occer 12×25 Compact Binoculars is magnification. Occer says they have a 12x magnification, but this appears to be overstated. If you know your binoculars, you will easily realize that they don’t have a power of 12x. They seem to fall somewhere around the 7x to 8x range.Nonetheless, there are a few exceptions, such as the Occer 12×25 Compact Binoculars. They have a 12x magnification at only less than 9 oz.

I’ve never heard of the Mksutary brand before, but yes, the budget binocular market is teeming with weird new brands that nobody has ever heard of. Birding binoculars are common. They usually fall in the mid- and full-size categories. Particularly, 8×32 and 8×42 models are popular choices among avid birdwatchers. 8x is preferable to 10x and 12x because it has a broader field of view, which makes it easy to spot birds from a distance. However, that doesn’t mean that 10x and 12x optics are not at all excellent choices for birding. The Occer 12x25 compact binoculars are tiny, even compared to small binoculars like the Celestron Outland X 10x42. (Image credit: Tantse Walter) In the close range, I was able to bring it into focus at objects that are about 12 feet away, after seemingly endless turning of the focus wheel. CollimationRemember to put these optics in a clean and dry place when not in use, especially if you want them to last long. While they are of decent quality considering the price point, they can’t take that much beating. You’d want to handle them with as much care as possible. The lenses are fully multi-coated. This reduces the reflection and ensures brighter images. Anti-reflective lens coatings are essential, otherwise, modern binoculars with their many lenses would lose too much light so that everything would look quite dark through it. Take a look at the Celestron Cometron 7x50 binoculars, which we think are some of the best binoculars for kids. They are nowhere near as tiny as the Occers reviewed here but are still considered compact. BaK4 was specified in the Mksutary specs, but if you carry out the test just recommended, it seems more like BK7 prisms. So for me as a non-wearer of glasses (only for reading) viewing with the Mksutary is problem-free and surprisingly comfortable. I’ll have to ask someone who wears glasses how he copes with it. Close Focus

To tell the difference hold the binoculars into the light and look at the exit pupil. If it’s a BaK4 glass you can see a beautiful round exit pupil, it is a BK7 prism angular shadowing appear. We found the Occer 12x25 compact binocular eyecups a little too soft and they folded even with the slightest pressure applied. (Image credit: Tantse Walter)The smaller lens diameter means that less light is collected. This is not a problem in daylight, but you cannot use them at dusk or at night. 12×25 produces an exit pupil only 2 mm in size and only little light enters the eye. In low light or at night when the pupils are dilated, large exit pupils are required to see brightly enough. When you hold the binoculars in your hand for the first time, the thing is more compact than expected. Well, it’s 12×25. It’s very light, just under 10 ounces, and has grippy rubber armor on what appears to be a polycarbonate chassis. Mechanics These Occer binoculars are ideal for beginners and occasional enthusiasts. Since they are lightweight and affordable, they are also suitable for kids. In terms of quality and performance, these optics are quite average. They provide bright and clear images with minimal color distortions, especially when there is good lighting. Thanks to the easy-to-use and strategically placed focus wheel, obtaining a laser-sharp focus is also easy. At 12x magnification, this pair of binoculars brings the image 12 times closer than an unassisted eye would. Because the magnification of this pair of binoculars is higher than 10x, it makes steady viewing a challenge. If you are moving, such as on a boat or in a moving vehicle, the binoculars might not be steady enough to allow you to view far away images. Field of View
