About this deal

By now, your little one is improving their ball skills, riding a trike, using pencils and scissors and drawing. They will be learning to balance on one foot and hop soon! Shop 3 - 4 years

One way to save a few quid when buying a scooter is to avoid opting for a foldable option. If you don’t need the folding functionality and have space for it, you’ll save a bit of cash. On the other hand, if you need to cram it into your car boot on a regular basis, the foldable option can be a lifesaver. It might cost more, but it will make your life a little bit easier. How long do you want this scooter to last? span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope>KatJ from span itemprop="name">Great ValueMy son loves this - a great starter scooter for a great price. (A little 'flimsy/wobbly' but I didn't expect more considering the price). Great value, and perfect for someone learning to balance and ride.

span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope>Alcos alcos from Because ride-on toys can spend a lot of time outdoors, look for toys that can be safely used in these environments and that are built to withstand the elements. As any parent knows, even if you have the best intentions of putting your child’s toys away at night, they’ll inevitably get left out from time to time. This is why we love the water-resistant wheels on the Costzon Ride On Motorcycle. Even when riding in rainy weather, the toy won't get ruined.

There is some DIY required to begin with, but we built the scooter up in less than five minutes, and tools are supplied so you don’t need to root through your tool box. This chart will give you a guide on what sizes to go for. Although the list starts at three years old, you can get scooters for younger toddlers and we’ve listed a couple of options below. Your baby’s about to become a confident little mover – rolling and crawling are on the horizon. Encourage their new-found mobility with toys that engage them physically. Shop 6 - 9 months

The frame is lightweight – good news for parents who might be charged with towing their little ones, which can be done with the help of the included detachable strap that doubles up for a carrying tool when the scooter is folded. When folded, the scooter can be stored in an included bag and is much less cumbersome than some of its non-foldable counterparts. The base is wider than your average scooter, which allows the user slightly more space to balance on, and the steering mechanism is controlled by leaning to the right or left. This provides a fun way for your child to learn the ropes. Additionally, the easy-touch safety brake at the rear makes stopping incredibly easy.

Scooters come in all sorts of sizes and prices, so there are plenty of options to consider when you’re in the market for buying one. Contemplating your answers to the following questions should help you narrow the search and identify your ideal option. What age range do you need your scooter to cover? In addition to the age recommendation, be sure to also pay attention to the weight capacity. Riding outside of your child's weight capacity can also be dangerous. On average, all of these ride-on toys have a capacity of around 45 to 50 pounds, but some can accommodate larger and older children as well, including the Lil' Rider Wiggle Car, which has an impressive weight capacity of 110 pounds, the most on our list. Your toddler’s social skills are developing! Encourage their imagination with toys that promote creativity and roleplay, while bigger play sets can help them become more comfortable in group play. Shop 24 Months - 3 Years As a general rule, measure the distance from the ground to your child’s hip and navel. The best scooter will then sit somewhere between these two heights. Do you need a foldable scooter? When it comes to ride-on toys, safety is of particular concern. Toddlers should always wear a helmet when using toys like trikes, bikes, and scooters, says Dr. Natasha Burgert, a pediatrician in South Overland Park, Kansas. When purchasing a ride-on toy for a toddler, especially as a gift, be sure to throw in a helmet as well to ease parents' minds. We like the Nutcase Little Nutty Kids Helmet for toddlers. Your active baby will now want to explore everything and everywhere! Use simple language to help encourage that first word and ensure playtime includes fun games like peek-a-boo. The bar is not height adjustable. However, it is a really good height for younger children from 2-4 years, the angle of their arms is more in front of them and great for balance while learning.  As they grow the bar eventually be at the right height, more down from their chest. I liked this scooter better than the others because it has a wide standing area and the way it tilts as the child leans or turns is very smooth. The balance area is flexible for bouncy kids. My 3 year old has dropped it, it is very durable. If your child wants it as a skate board, the bar will come off (with ease of parent, it won't slip off while child rides it), so they can have 2 toys in one.  I hope this helps

span itemprop="name">Defective?my son got this as a present several monthes ago, it is his first scooter so he was practicing since then...but even using all his weight and force, it is too difficult for him to turn. If an adulte put his weight and pressure on it, hardly but it can turn, but... it is supposed to be for small kids! Maybe ours is defective, but I don't recommend this product. it is not interesting to ride.

At this age, imagination knows no bounds – anything is possible! They love reading books, playing dress-up and being active with you! Shop 4 - 5 years If you just want a cheap scooter for using now, which you can sell on or use as a hand-me-down when your child outgrows it, a cheaper one-size option will work fine. This is also a good option if you’re not sure if your child is going to take to using it. If you want to invest, opt for one that grows and extends.
