This means that there is an issue with the control box as it may not have been installed properly and will potentially need replacing. Sorry to bump up an old thread, but I've just had my fan on a 28i replaced by a service engineer at age 26 months. The new fan is working fine, but we got to chatting about the way repairs always involve swapping complete components and whether the fan PCB alone could be replaced. The engineer said he would be interested to know whether the circuit had failed due to moisture within the older enclosed plastic shell on this version, and I said that I'd take a look at the old board based on my (limited) hobbyist electronics knowledge (and perhaps with the help of my friend who services consumer electronics products for a living). The problem is it would be nice to know the values on the terminals of the plug and any other information relevant to testing the fan unit. The responses on the thread seem to be rather unhelpful. I shan't be putting the fan anywhere near the boiler as I am a firm believer in letting the experts handle gas appliances, but I wouldn't mind having a spare fan if the fault just turns out to be a PCB capacitor or similar. Can anybody describe the normal service test procedure (with fan disconnected from the boiler)?

Your central heating pump may be the culprit when it comes to locating a leak and fixing a sudden drop in boiler pressure. The valve seal on a pump will wear down over time naturally, especially if too much pressure is placed on it or there is a sudden increase in water flow. This means that there is an issue with the Tank negative thermistor coefficient (NTC) and may be defective.

What’s Next?

The system pressure too low – the heating system needs venting or water needs topping up until the preset pressure is reached. Replace the cable to the pressure sensor and replace the pressure sensor. Unfortunately, if the leak is within your boiler, there is a likelihood that there is a part that needs replacing. Whether this be certain release valves or your entire pipework. An engineer should examine this issue. Are you having central heating pump problems?

This means that airflow has been present during the last 24 hours. Or there may be an issue with the fan operation.Worcester Bosch boiler spares has everything you need to service, repair and install Worcester Boilers. However, there’s no point engaging in pricey boiler fan motor repair if the unit is already old — the “bandaid” fix won’t last long, and you’ll likely need a whole new unit anyway. The Fix

Any noise stems from vibration. And this vibration (over years) can cause the connections and wiring to come loose. If it’s not faulty, a diverter valve should prioritise providing hot water to your taps and showers - over your central heating. So, as you turn a hot tap on, the valve should be tightly closed, preventing hot water from flowing to your heating pipes. This way, you can have optimum hot water for your taps and showers - rather than having to split the hot water with your radiators. The boiler notices an increase in air pressure (as the fan continuously pushes harmful gases up the flue, and they don’t escape), and will shut down. The burner control unit that has been fitted is not compatible with the KIM (boiler identification module). If you’re seeing any of the error messages above on your boiler, chances are there’s a fan problem of some sort. Boiler Fan Noise The boiler is waiting – the actual temperature is higher than the calculated or selected boiler temperature. This signifies there is an incompatible heat control module (HCM), meaning the control box needs the latest software. Typically, we find that damage comes from boiler system leaks rather than old age. And unfortunately, boilers (and the central heating system in general) have plenty of parts that are prone to leaking. Don’t worry, Worcester Greenstar diverter valve problems are not something to worry about if you have a relatively new boiler. It’s when your boiler starts to age that it will be more prone to this occurring. How to identify a faulty diverter valve This is a fan for Worcester Greenstar HE, ICC2, ICS1 and RD British Gas Combi boilers. It is a new and genuine part. A lot of Worcester boiler faults are noticeable initially through having trouble heating your home. Worcester boiler problems with heating are often evident through the temperature of the water coming through your taps or within your radiators. Worcester boiler faults tend to occur very rarely due to the quality and reputability of their components. As your boiler starts to get older and issues do start to show, you can use Worcester boiler error codes to diagnose the issue. It is important to keep in mind that the process of actually fixing any issues should be left to an engineer to be on the safe side. More sudden and dramatic drops in boiler pressure can indicate a more pressing matter to deal with. Is there a leak in your system? assured conform to the safety and performance specification that the boiler manufacturer recommends. For old boilers that are out of warranty, a better option might be to get a price for a new boiler. Top Air Faults That Affect a Fan’s Operation Whilst replacing your central heating pump is an option, if your boiler has reached a certain age, it won’t be worthwhile. With BOXT, you can replace your boiler at a highly competitive price, knowing you are investing in a boiler that will last many years – rather than spending money on your old boiler that is on the way out.
