Wanted: full-time live-in nanny position. Experience with children is a must. Free room and board. Serious inquiries only.” Ferguson makes the will-they-won't-they sing with complex emotional shading and a strong sense of inevitability to her protagonists' connection...Rosie Danan fans should snap this up * Publishers Weekly (starred review) * Do you know when you’re in the mood for the kind of read where the book is fun and the writing is so easy to follow and the spice is SPICY? this is so much that!!

I really liked THE NANNY, but it is surprisingly spicy! The spice begins early and does not let up throughout the whole book. So keep a water towel nearby! The story is good, lots of twists that keep the tension tight, but nothing too preposterous. I really enjoyed the character of Aunt Iris as Cassie's foil. Iris is rigid, fearful, and difficult to get to know, but still a good person. She brings wonderful tension into the story. Every single chapter, I had to read their small talk and discussing their plans for the day. I had to sit through Cassie taking Sophie and her new friend to the zoo. I had to read about Aiden’s work crises, like scallions being left out of the refrigerator. I had to read sex scenes about the most two-dimensional characters I’ve ever read about going at it like robots reciting lines from some sort of AI porn. Speaking of robots, Aiden seemed to be malfunctioning and constantly repeating the phrases, “I’m trying,” and “Everyone’s a critic”—to which Cassie was programmed to respond, “Poor baby.” When Cassie closes her account and Aiden goes MIA, she desperately needs a job to avoid ending up homeless. Enter a live-in nanny ad for a 9-year-old girl. Guess who hires her? Yep, it's Aiden! Initially oblivious to their connection, Cassie faces a dilemma—should she spill the beans and risk her dream job? 🤔🤫 The characters and side characters were wonderful and this book had some excellent banter that had me smiling and giggling the entire time.

But let’s just pretend sex workers, especially women, don’t routinely get stalked. That’s so not a thing, right? The Nanny is a debut romance novel and so I wasn’t sure what to expect. There was a lot to love about Lana Furgeson’s first book. And dear reader, I leave it up to your imagination as to what is likely to happen when two attractive single adults live in together under one roof (with a child). Great story that had me hooked and left me wanting more. I can already tell that Lana Ferguson is going to be an auto buy author for me, already excited for her next book, The Fake Mate

But Aiden Reid, executive chef and DILF extraordinaire, is far from the stuffy single dad Cassie was imagining. With those hands and eyes that scream sex, such close proximity feels dangerous. With no other option, she takes the job and moves in with him and his adorably tenacious daughter, Sophie.

The Nanny

Cassie just felt so relatable despite the fact that she was getting wined and dined by a hot daddy chef every night. Never have I wanted to relate more. She was self aware and stood up for herself and others. Aiden was a treat in the streets and a FEAST in the sheets. I’m convinced there’s no better fictional profession than a dominant daddy chef. Cassie was like thank god I don’t have a daddy kink and I was like Jesus Christ can’t relate anymore 😮‍💨 Now, onto the not-so-great parts. Personally, the "meet cute" on “OF” wasn't my cup of tea. 😅🙈 But hey, different strokes for different folks, right? Also, the repetitive dialogue got under my skin. If I heard "I don’t want to overstep" one more time, I might have given up on the whole shebang! 😤😩 I absolutely ADORE Sophie! Sophie. Sophie. Sophie. Sophie!! Oh, she is the cutest, little, stubborn, sassy nine-year-old who thinks that she's 27 and is ADORABLE. If she were not in this book, I would have probably rated it a lot lower because she just made it! Everything and every scene in which she was present just felt a whole lot more wholesome than when she wasn't there.

The Banter—Cassie and Aiden just got each other and the dialogue felt akin to a movie or show, which I personally really ,really love. What I loved about this book was Sophie, the feisty 9-year-old who's been through a lot and scares off nanny after nanny. 👧💪 Aiden isn't the picture-perfect dad, but he's trying his best. Finally, a refreshing break from the "flawless single dad" trope! 😄🙌 This steamy, romantic comedy puts a modern spin on traditional tropes, bringing the falling-for-the-nanny and secret-past storylines into the 21st century…Readers who enjoyed Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone’s A Merry Little Meet Cute will adore this positive, upbeat, sex-filled romp.”— Library JournalThe other thing that kind of frustrated me is I loved the beginning of the book before our main characters got together. The cute little dynamics and the banter. The annoying and adorable Snapple facts remind me too much of myself! And the attraction between the characters was gripping. BUT then when they finally got together, all of that just got lost and we fell into the realm of being told and not shown. Phrases were used to pass time but I WANTED to see what happened! I wanted to, you know, see the characters connecting. Not just be told, "Oh (time passed) they have connected now". Suddenly unemployed Cassie has two options: get a new job (and fast) or fire up her long-untouched OnlyFans account. When she spots an ad for a live-in nanny position it seems like the solution to all her problems . . . Cassie has to keep this secret and resist the charms of her boss if she doesn’t want to lose her job! Easier said than done because Aiden also cannot hold himself each time they are in the same room. How will they stop themselves before tearing each other’s clothes and let their high chemistry gets in the driver’s seat?

The story follows Cassie (25), a woman who is just finishing up her degree. When she gets laid off from work, Cassie finds herself taking a job as a live-in nanny. Aiden (32) is overworked, stressed out, and desperate to get some help with his daughter, so he jumps at the chance to hire someone as qualified as Cassie. They soon discover that the sparks that fly between them could be a problem - Cassie is there to work, and her focus should be on Aiden's daughter, not the sexy single dad she's sharing a home with. But the two can't seem to stop crossing lines, and things become even more complicated when Cassie realizes that Aiden is the OnlyFan who ghosted her when things got a little too real between them... and she's not sure what to do about that.

Also Lana is one of the funniest authors I’ve ever talking to & I am so glad I got to meet her through this book & give her all my updates while reading 🫶🫶 When Cassie loses her job in the children hospital, her plans to keep a roof above her head and pay her school tuitions sound like impossible plan to her! She needs a job covering her expanses urgently! Her dreams come through so fast than she expected when she answers an ad for live-in nanny position and gets summoned to an interview with her future boss at the restaurant he works at. The book was dual POV, but mainly centered around Cassie’s narrative. When Aiden’s sections begin, the tension is through the roof because they’re so strategically and sparingly placed. I haven’t seen many books with an imbalance like that and god I adore it. Before nearly every chapter, there were sections from their OnlyFans conversations that WORKED SO WELL. I’m normally not a fan of fillers like that but sweet baby Guy Fieri I’ve been taken to FLAVOR TOWN. I had seen this pop up on my feed a few times and I knew with a description like that I had to read it and I am so happy I did!! First things first: From a reader’s perspective, it looked like Aiden was having a parasocial relationship with “Cici”, and the author and everybody in the book thought that was totally fine. I couldn’t find a single way to make any of it okay in my head. I thought all of the online interactions (which are all purely sexual) interspersed throughout the book made Aiden sound like an absolute creep, knowing he was trying to meet her in real life. By the time the story EVEN BEGINS, Cassie’s webcamming days are long behind her, which made me wonder why make it a major fixture of the plot in the first place?
