Description

Fizzy and Connor have palpable, simmering sexual tension from the start. I can only imagine that staring directly at them produces the same kind of hazy, shimmering heat effect you see while looking across a parking lot on a scorching hot day. And sparks aside, they’re just cute together. It’s a sweet love story, with two main characters who are mature and well-adjusted, leading to less of the clichéd third act dramatics you find in most romance and rom-coms these days (though be warned, those elements aren’t entirely gone). So I got the eyeball ARC of this months ago and never got around to it (I don't have any reason—just dumb), but I'm glad I managed to get an earhole copy from the library. Shoutout to the Libby app. Anyways, this is my second Christina Lauren and like The Unhoneymooners, the first half was jokey jokes and the second half was stressy n depressy.

this book started off really strong and i was really enjoying it! i loved fizzy from the soulmate equation and i was so excited to read about her. even though it was good at the beginning, it just went downhill from there. Fizzy is a bestselling romance novelist who realizes that she has never fallen in love. She's fallen in lust, but love - Nope, not once! Even the moment of conflict was really perfect – not what I expected and yet it wasn’t this drama-filled event. It fits these thirty-something characters and showed their maturity which I adored. For Connor, a challenge is an irresistible lure, and he meticulously assembles a group of candidates that are tailor-made to capture Fizzy's heart. It becomes evident that Fizzy is a natural fit for reality TV, yet the sparks between her and Connor ignite before the show even commences. A torturous twist unfolds as Fizzy begins dating the eight alluring contestants in front of Connor, igniting a burning jealousy within him. Paradoxically, as the show progresses, Fizzy feels her true self resurfacing as she spends more time with the contestants. She grapples with an undeniable attraction to Connor, recognizing the responsibilities he bears as a father and his professional obligations, compounded by the anti-fraternization policy in their workspace. The question lingers: Could her soulmate be someone who observes from behind the camera, a silent presence brooding as he witnesses her interactions with other men?

Both on and off set, Fizzy and Connor find themselves in TV-worthy moments. What was your favorite interaction between the two of them and why? Thank you Christina Lauren for this love letter to romance. I loved it and can’t wait for even more. It was one of my most anticipated new romance books of 2023 and is now truly one of the best romance novels of 2023.Fizzy claimed that a deal breaker in her past relationship with one of the heroes, Evan, was a horrible tattoo. Would this be a deal breaker for you? Discuss what other nonstarters you may have seen both in the story and in real life. Anyways before I get into some spoilies, what I did like was 1) Connor's accent 2) the premise: dating shows, matchmaking services, dating apps etc are my romcom catnip 3) diverse characters. Be warned though: THIS IS SPICY. I'm all about those triple-bolted closed doors so I was kinda like lalalalalaalala when the words 'member' 'hard' and 'heat spread...' started popping up 😂 Connor was a different character in that his personality slowly came to light the deeper you get into the story. He wasn’t easy to flush out at first but it worked because what finally did emerge was this hero that surpasses any stereotypical romance hero. I don't watch Bachelor/Bachelorette type shows, so I can't say for certain, but it seems like it was realistically written on what goes down on one. The True Love Experiment Main Characters: Felicity “Fizzy” Chen and Connor Prince III The True Love Experiment Summary:

Who doesn't love a Hollywood story? We've all been obsessed with them ever since the beginning of cinema, TV, and fame. But now two of our favorite authors are giving us another reason to be absolutely obsessed. I think it’s hilarious that Fizzy threw out that idea anticipating it would derail her chances of being cast on the show but Connor stepped up and delivered (the casting of a vampire was genius!). So what was it about this book that captured my heart? It is the intense connection between the two main characters. Christina (&) Lauren once again deliver a fun contemporary romance novel that will keep you laughing and cheering throughout! These two authors make an incredible team!Another winning romance from Lauren, full of big laughs, a few tears, and some seriously steamy scenes. I am convinced that people who think romance isn’t the best fictional genre just haven’t read the right Christina Lauren book yet. Sparks fly when a romance novelist and a documentary filmmaker join forces to craft the perfect Hollywood love story and take both of their careers to the next leve l— but only if they can keep the chemistry between them from taking the whole thing off script—from the New York Times bestselling authors of The Soulmate Equation and The Unhoneymooners . The The True Love Experiment was a culmination of some of my absolute favourite things and it made me giddy with delight. The True Love Experiment is the book fans have been waiting for ever since Fizzy’s debut in the New York Times bestselling The Soulmate Equation. But when the lights come on and all eyes are on her, it turns out the happily ever after Fizzy had all but given up on might lie just behind the camera.
