A fresh and very funny story about an endearing British Bangladeshi nine-year-old - it's clearly going to be a BIG HIT.' - Jacqueline Wilson Former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq published her first children's book, Cookie and the Most Annoying Boy in the World, in 2019 and she has now published a third adventure, Cookie and the Most Mysterious Mystery in the World. A live action Cookie TV series based on the award-winning books is currently in development with Zodiak Kids. I like Mrs Chen, the science teacher who is very meek mild ordinarily but can get really angry when pushed over the edge.

This is one of my favourite Jacqueline Wilson books, and I think Beauty is one of my favourite of her characters too - I find her very relatable, especially her vivid imagination, her awkwardness, and her love of Sara Crewe from 'A Little Princess'. Why did you decide to make Cookie keen on science, and to feature different aspects of science in the books? I'm seriously contemplating buying a hardcover copy to have on hand. We liked this cookbook enough where we figured it wouldn't be particularly convenient for Doug to steal my Kindle every time he wanted to select a recipe. A rude girl in Beauty's class who takes pleasure in bullying Beauty and calling her nasty names like "Ugly".

Mike: A kind painter who owns a B&B House on Rabbit Cove and takes Beauty and Dilly under his wing. I like to put activities into all the books to make them interactive and more immersive. Any 'gateways' that help get reluctant readers into reading can only be a good thing. I like to think the humour, comic pictures and activities are all a part of this and added extras! Codes and coding were included as the whole story is to do with puzzles and mysteries. In our increasingly tech savvy world, knowledge of coding is becoming increasingly important.Considering the last book I read by Jacqueline Wilson ( Lily Alone) was merely lukewarm, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this particular offering. Despite the dark themes of bullying and spousal/child abuse (Beauty's father is both emotionally and psychologically abusive), this story is full of warm fuzzies. And I'm not just talking about the rabbits. Additionally, the pictures! WOW! After viewing each picture I continue to think that I cannot be more impressed but I am! I also wonder if any baking was done when these pictures were taken, they are eerily clean working areas. I did not make my way through trying every recipe personally before posting this review as I don’t have *that* much sugar on hand but I certainly will look forward to revisiting this book in the future.

I am glad that the ending was more satisfying this time, though it was still open-ended (in a good way). Now before every recipe is a little blurb about where the idea or concept came from. Personally, I love learning about how bakers come up with flavors or the history behind a family recipe. Double Act won the prestigious Smarties Medal and the Children’s Book Award as well as being highly commended for the Carnegie Medal. The Story of Tracy Beaker won the 2002 Blue Peter People’s Choice Award. Kitchenfeeds has provided a cookbook with 30 delicious recipes, which are easy to bake and meant for all skill levels.” Dilly Cookson: Beauty's caring mother who struggles standing up to her cruel husband, but does her best with looking after Beauty.Cookie begs her parents for a pet to fill the void but they have given her an absolute NO. It would be way too expensive and way way too messy. But Cookie has never been a fan of the word 'no' so she visits the pet shop anyway and sets her heart on the sweetest cutest kitteniest kitten ever: Bluey. Beauty was an interesting, three-dimensional character; a smart, quiet girl who enjoys art and a children's show called 'The Rabbit Hutch'. I liked that the show proved to be so important to the plot, as I thought at first it was just an odd little quirk of Beauty's.

I have never read any Jacqueline Wilson books before, I knew (I thought I knew) what kind of books she writes, you know, Tracy Beaker is on all the time on CBBC etc. I didn't think badly of her books, but I wasn't really interested in them, I thought I'd read it all before. Science is something that we lag behind in when it comes to young people entering into their chosen professions especially girls. The stereotype of a scientist needs challenging. The younger people are subjected to science, the less likely it will feel like an alien subject when first encountered at secondary school. Science explains everything and is so important. The illustrations almost draw themselves as they are the funny thoughts and flights of fancy that go through Cookie's head. Some are thought up as the text is written and others I come up with after. It's really fun coming up with them and trying to second guess where Cookie's mind will go!!! Dessert recipes range from the Classic Chocolate Chip made three different ways, to bars, brownies, and blondies that reflect a wide range of flavors and global inspiration. Cookie - a lass with sass who'll inspire girls and boys alike (and make mums and dads laugh too) ... daft and funny for all.' - Zoe Ball Cookie gets the chance to go on her favourite TV show, Brainbusters. It's only a chance though - she'll have to win the school science competition first. It shouldn't be too hard . . . all she has to do is keep her head down, and not get too over-excited. Unfortunately that's not Cookie's strong point ...
