Description

The Rebar pliers have been optimized for strength and feature replaceable wire/hard-wire cutters—a first for a four-inch tool from Leatherman. Does anyone believe any of the multi-tool manufacturers offer a knifeless multi-tool because there is consumer demand, or are the multi-tool manufacturers meeting governmental requirements? Like the Supertool 300, but a little smaller, the Rebar Knifeless has removable wire cutting blades that can be sharpened on the tools own file or even replaced.

I have further expanded the set with the Leatherman Bit driver so that I can have a variety of bits to use to screw/unscrew. Built for tough jobs and the hands that do them, the Knifeless REBAR features scissors instead of a traditional knife blade. The most important thing is that it is UK-legal, so you can carry it outside of work or around your home - no locking knife means no breach of the law. Agreed this is an option, but what I mean is I wish they would design a NEW tool that emphasizes the scissors instead of a blade instead of just switching in the small scissors. The UK knife law state you can’t carry anything with a blade longer that 3 inches or a fixed blade/locking blade. With all the features to get even the toughest jobs done, in a smaller, slimmer size, the Rebar is sure to be an instant hit on job sites and home projects the world over. Think I may have found a Knifeless Fuse for sale, I might just go for that, as it has no locking saw or awl, so is definitely UK-legal carry! I just wish Leatherman offered more of their models without knife blades (but replaced them with more useful tools instead e.

But that does not apply to "environments and job sites that need a handy set of tools, yet don’t allow for knife blades". Personally I carry a knifeless mod often, and I live in a state that's very liberal when it comes to blades. Also, my primary EDC knife is a Spyderco Urban (British Blades forum special edition with Elmax steel), which is UK-legal, stays sharp, has OHO, and a deep-carry pocket clip, so I have no need for a knife on my multitool. There is a certain type of person who only wants to boss people around and take things from others, and they tend to find their way into positions where they are allowed to do that. The file sucks though, and the tool set is more limited, but on the plus side you'll have spring loaded pliers. One is not better than the other, but having the two mandatory systems only drives up costs without adding value. The Leatherman EDC Rebar is a knifeless tool, perfect for environments and job sites that need a handy set of tools, yet don’t allow for knife blades. but if there is a risk the Knifeless Rebar is still not considered UK-legal carry, I'd have to look elsewhere e.

I'm not going to dock a star for the fact that FW's listing erroneously lists this tool as having a bottle opener (a can opener is all that's included in this department), but whilst knocking the lid off a cool one might not be quite so neatly accomplished in the absence of a dedicated opener, it's not exactly rocket science to do so in other ways.Whilst we're addressing the accuracy of the tool, mine weighed in at a smidgen under 179g, although I do understand that there's generally an allowance for small weight discrepancies between supposedly identical tools. It's really just about somebody telling you that you can't have something, or that you can't do something. Anyway, whether you can have the tool is still often left up to individual discretion regardless of whether it meets rules and regulations. While multi tools without a blade and scissors under a certain length are allowed it’s still a toss up if you’ll be allowed through security with it. Quote from: Fortytwo on March 11, 2016, 08:50:29 PM My belief is that this is a niche product for a certain set of people, who wants a tool but for one reason or another want's to skip the blade.
