The Corsair K95 PLATINUM and the Corsair K100 RGB are both outstanding gaming keyboards with similar features. I really like them because it makes it easy to change songs when playing a video game or using any other full-screen application. The other custom buttons include brightness control, on-the-fly profile switching, and a Windows lock key.

I routed the Keyboard to the PS5 and had next to no issues getting power to it, and the mouse worked just fine through the USB pass through. is crazy money, of course (and we've been told it could well go up within a month), but, as far as keyboards go, there's a new top dog in town. The units we tested use the same Cherry MX Speed switches, but you can get the K95 with Cherry MX Browns and the K100 with linear optical switches instead. Corsair also includes S-key caps to replace the pre-installed G-key caps, should you feel the need to more directly state that your extra buttons are there to do Stream Deck duty. Assuming you're okay with a light switch, they have a very nice action that doesn't fatigue your fingers and helps the keyboard feel responsive, although you may find yourself using more force than necessary and bottoming out until you get used to the lightness.Now that we think about it, Corsair could just be responsible for bringing RGB keyboards into the mainstream, and now its best keyboard to date, the K95 Platinum, elevates gaming keyboards to a new level with an integrated light bar. This is due to the heavy deck made from “aircraft-grade” aluminum and a thick base, allowing it to land on my desk with a satisfying thud. Regardless of the variant you choose—MX Speed Silver, MX Brown, or MX Blue—the feel of Cherry switches is very much a known quantity (in a good way). Flipping it over, we find a cross-shaped set of cable channels and a heavy application of rubber to the underside – this keyboard won't be slipping or sliding around your desk.

Like most recent Corsair gaming keyboards, the K95 Platinum is set up through the Corsair Utility Engine (CUE).Assigning configurations to a user profile is easy, but more than a couple times the K95 seemed to forget my settings and I had to open CUE to get things going right again. The K95 RGB Platinum XT features, like its predecessor, Cherry MX Brown or Cherry MX Speed switches, but it also offers the choice of Cherry MX Blue. Typing on the Cherry MX Brown switches feels much better to type on than the Cherry MX Speed on the Corsair, though both keyboards can be purchased with different types of switches. Moreover, the wrist rest was improved with a cushioned, soft textured leatherette to increase its comfort.

If you’re a gamer who doesn’t plan on typing a whole lot, this keyboard could be absolutely perfect for you.Important streaming commands can therefore easily be put on the macros keys, so that you can control all of your streaming environment directly via the keyboard. I did manage to find several online tutorials about creating your own profiles with the gaming keyboard. It takes a brave company to look at a product as universally lauded as the K95 RGB and decide that it needs improving, and some very good decisions have been made with the K95 Platinum, improving everywhere without ever diminishing the overall excellence of the main product.
