I hadn’t really heard of Clara Batten before this but, I’m now a convert and follow her on social media – definitely brightens up the day.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to others looking for a light-hearted and enjoyable read. The good news is, now she's found (some of) the answers and is sharing her secrets with the rest of us!Written in an enjoyably readable chatty style, this wonderful book takes you on a marvellously positive journey through the middle class life and motherhood of the author. Clara is the person I would love to have been friends with at school; we would have had amazing fun. A recyclable plastic card wrap (OPP) is included to protect this card; it can be recycled with your carrier bags at most major supermarkets. When I saw that she had released a book I immediately downloaded the audiobook version and completed it within a few days.

I have never heard of Clara Batten but the synopsis of the book sounded good… that is where it ended. Exuding warmth and humour, Gin and Phonics is the much-needed antidote to Instagram-perfect motherhood. Ebooks fulfilled through Glose cannot be printed, downloaded as PDF, or read in other digital readers (like Kindle or Nook).I am older with no kids but could relate to the stories, the snappy asides and the witty banter she has with pretty much anyone she encounters. Of course, I am a mum so my kids are mentioned quite a bit (in fairness, they can be comedy gold) but mainly, Gin and Phonics is a humorous series of vignettes about my increasingly bonkers life with comedic anecdotes from past and present.
