About this deal

Dan and Mark do that thing that only crazy knowledgeable enthusiasts can do, they make you a crazy enthusiast too. There are elements of culture and events that the non-Japanese person or anime fan will miss unless they spend a bit of time googling, but I didn't find this enough of an issue to deter me. The anime was probably scarier than the novel, too, since you get more on screen gruesome death in the anime than the novel.

I'm not sure if the description is a direct translation of the Japanese or if it's just American mistake. If your somebody who doesn't mind a snail pace start and atmosphere building then give then I recommend it. I'm a very visual reader and also a fan of anime and manga, so I was easily able to visualize the characters and setting. Ayatsuji's grand works, Another reads like a decent, but a bit lukewarm teenager detective/thriller story. Together, these two women – one who longs for a child and the other who longs for a mother’s love – will be tested in ways that neither could have imagined. Through Souders’ chatbot conversations, we step into a world of questions: about love, sexuality, death, disappointment, the sky, seeing, desire, and anxieties of the body.

I really had no idea what this book was trying to say until I went back and read the jacket synopsis, but honestly, I didn't care that much because without fail Christian Robinson's illustrations evoke so much joy for me. If your child loves the illustrations, Christian is the illustrator of some of my other favorite picture books, including Gaston and Antoinette (both by Kelly DiPucchio, two perennial favorites of my students) and other collaborations with the incredible Matt de la Pena, Last Stop on Market Street, for which he won a Caldecott , Carmela Full of Wishes, and Milo Imagines the World. I give Another 3 stars not because I don't enjoy it, but merely because I had read far better novels by Yukito Ayatsuji than this one. Going on knowing the answer, means you can pay more attention to the clues that are given for the solution to everything.

Reminiscent of Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen's Sam and Dave Dig a Hole, Another isn't a bad book, as far as the illustrations go. A story like this is so hard to review, as it would be a crime to tell you any details about the book before you read it.

A little girl wakes up to see her cat going through a portal which opened up in her room late at night. As long as the words and phrases inside the book itself are not copied or adapted, there is no danger of copyright infringement.Despite its shortcomings, Another is a highly enjoyable mystery horror novel, and can be enjoyed by fans of either genre who want to read something new story-wise. Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first. There's not a whole lot about any of the characters other than the main players, and even then, it's not all that deep.

Flipping back to previous pages, she said, “I think it’s so clever how she took the blanket off her bed and used it as a rope to climb down into the other world and find her cat. tiên tôi muốn nói về Another là mặc dù đã chuẩn bị tâm lí ít nhiều, nó không hề là một cảm giác hớn hở vui tươi khi tôi cầm sách ngồi đọc một mình khi trời tối. Câu chuyện xoay quanh lời nguyền – hay nói đúng hơn là một hiện tượng kỳ bí – xảy ra tại lớp 9-3 của trường trung học Bắc Yomi, thành phố Yomiyama (yên tâm, theo lời tác giả thì đây là địa danh do ông tưởng tượng ra, không có thật ở bên Nhật A wonderful - and essential - read for anyone interested in the world of wine, or even for those, like me, who just drink it.
