The setting was well-drawn but I had little sympathy for any of the characters save the hero and even he wasn't on his best form. There were a few suspicious deaths and one positive murder, so it wasn't easy to guess the criminal, nor it was any easier to fathom a connection between the deaths. You can always tell the characters you can trust in the story because they are the ones who like him the most. Before her retirement in 1979, she served in the forensics and criminal justice departments of Great Britain's Home Office, and she has been a magistrate and a governor of the BBC.
