Description

So the first 3 layers of my 1950s wall are plaster on insulated plasterboard (PB + 40mm PR bonded at factory). Welcome to Bradfords Building Supplies – your trusted local trade Builders Merchant since 1770, providing building supplies throughout the South West; Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and even into Hertfordshire and Worcestershire! Corefix Dot and Dab Wall Fixings secure the load to the hard surface behind the board, either brick or block, bridging the gap between the board and wall.

The engineered plasterboard fixing that ‘bridges the gap’ between board and wall, using the masonry as the anchor point to achieve superb load values. With a 120mm screw length, the Corefix 120 is ideal for securing deeper fixtures of between 10mm and 30mm thick, such as timber battens, shelves and cabinets. At We Supply Fixings we are extremely confident in the standard and quality of the products that we offer. Featuring a strong steel core, our reinforced wall anchors are designed to transfer the load to the brick or block wall behind the plasterboard, providing a safe and strong hold. So the screw just chews into the plug and when i pull the whole the screw away from the wall, the entire plug and bracket just comes away from the wall.Thought splashing out on the Corefix screws was the answer but it wasn't meant to be as straightforward as that. All you need to install these plasterboard screws is a screwdriver, hammer and drill, providing a no-fuss set-up. With this tool the fixing pulls tight without spinning and so there is no damage to the plasterboard. Whether you’re looking for tools or timber for a one-off job, or a range of building materials for a large project, you’ll find everything you need all in one place, here at Bradfords.

Corefix prevents this issue by transferring the load directly to the solid masonry by way of the steel insert. Toggle clips are designed for hollow walls and dot and dab, so I don't know if the toggles will expand the way they should. This wall fixing kit is made in Britain and independently reviewed, ensuring four fixings can safely support up to 100kg in weight. fill the hole in the brick with resin or quick set concrete, push the corefix plug in, wait for it to set and screw the screw in as intended. br />
About Metex:
Metex design and manufacture high quality and innovative construction products where improvements can be made on existing and traditional methods.Beyond that, it's wet plaster, but as mentioned by another poster, it could be 3mm or it could be as much as 20mm. The cost of fixing the wall, water leak on the floor and broken copper pipes far outweighs the initial cost.
