Isn't it recomended or is there just no guide because there is already a guide for a different nextcloud docker solution (unfortunately without office included)? The other thing is the power draw - perhaps the power brick might need upgrading as well with the increased power requirement of the Pi5. some time ago I needed a quick solution to mount some older hard disks and share them (smb/ftp) on my network. This gives us the fastest OS available and removes any need for a desktop OS, this NAS will live on our network serving files, not pushing pixels.

Space grade aluminum, cyberpunk looks and plenty of storage options make the Argon EON the ideal choice for Raspberry Pi 4-powered NAS solutions. Head back to the year 2000 with this guide to emulating Nintendo GameCube, Sony PlayStation, and Sega Dreamcast. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. What’s fantastic about the case is the power button that doubles as an OLED display that you can customise yourself.

The problem's compounded by the fact the fan is triggered by CPU temperature alone - meaning that, thanks to the big ol' chunk of metal it attaches for passive cooling, the fan's unlikely to spin up even when the drives are under heavy load. I'm actually writing this up for Hackster right now, and spotted something I missed the first read-through: it's a four bay NAS, true enough.

If you follow guides from other places, then when something happens, you'll need to go to those other places to ask for help. For instance, if your HDD temp hits 35C, the fan will turn on at 30%, even if the CPU temp is running below 55C. I know that hardcore users will shout at me for using Raspberry Pi as a NAS but if I’m honest over nearly 5 years of storage, not a single bite was lost. That, combined with Synology's quirky operating system, limited UI functionality, and downright exacerbating technical support steered me to QNAP, where I've not had any regrets since. Did some experimentation, 'cos I'll do literally anything instead of actual work: the OLED works fine at fan speeds of 14-100.

The microSD card and GPIO even have been routed out the back and is protected with a removable plate. here comes the mandatory Question if / when a Version of the Argon Eon for the Raspberry Pi will arrive. I appreciate the work that was put into the documentation but its not really self explaining for a newbe. With the original script I was able to prevent this by commenting out the HDD checking as is described elsewhere on the forum.

The ease at which we can add drives, the sheer lack of wires and the OLED display add a level of refinement to our DIY NAS build. When setup in the Argon-EON, that single board computer has 4 SSD’s attached, and can boot from an 5th device. A real-time clock allows for accurate time to be kept in the event of a power outage and automating tasks such as restarting or getting data through APIs. Sorry for misleading you, but it seems the EON only uses 1x USB3 port to plug the drives SATA board. It’s unreasonably loud and having it on all the time will quickly turn your office peace into annoyance. I have a working (but not well maintained) Nextcloud in use and would like to continue using it (perhaps with some updates and a working backup). If you have issues with fan settings, please enable the logging, restart the service and send me the log output after 10 minutes or so. Argon has also baked versatility into the design with a built-IR port that works with the firm’s remote control (reviewed last month), perfect for a home theatre setup.
