About this deal

Janet’s character was flawed , but I could totally understand why and I was really rooting for her the whole time , her husband Colin is an abuser in the form of coercive control and mental abuse , I found his character sickening, he was a disgusting human being .

Impossible to put down, this is a darkly brilliant novel that balances the heartbreak with the humour. I raced through this, desperate to find out how it would be resolved and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. A deeply empathetic exploration of grief, loneliness, guilt, toxic relationships and forgiving oneself. If I let you go follows Janet, a cleaner who has followed the same routine for years going to work and cleaning offices.

Next thing we know, Janet seems to be involved in a train accident, and when she wakes up in hospital nobody knows where she was going or why she was on the train, including Janet. When a message from beyond the grave tell’s Janet to be brave, will she come clean and will she finally be able to move on with her life? If I Let You Go by Charlotte Levin is a deeply moving and gripping portrayal of a woman coming to terms with loss. A character driven normal focussing on Janet and the aftermath of trauma that is affecting so much of her life. I thought it was a very powerful and thought provoking read , it’s definitely one I would recommend and It will sit with me for a long time I think .But when Janet is involved in a train crash and saves the life of a little girl, it seems like fate has come full circle to offer Janet another chance at both life and redemption. One evening, she’s had as much as she can take and she makes a break for it channelling her inner Thelma or Louise. The ending is inconclusive and tragic; I would have preferred a more positive and uplifting conclusion. In If I Let You Go we meet Janet, a cleaner, a wife and mourning the loss of her daughter eleven years previously. I absolutely loved Charlotte’s debut novel If I Can’t Have you, so I was excited to read this new story If I Let You Go.

I have a very active imagination and have no problem envisioning my own ending to most of the books I read. But as events spiral out of control and confessing not an option she has to figure out what she's going to do and the truths she needs to face. I grow increasingly disenfranchised with thrillers; so many seem geared toward parents and totally miss the mark for me. She sees all this as deserved punishment for her part eleven years ago in a tragic accident which killed her only child, Claire.
