The ship model kit pack includes also detailed manual in several languages and additional plan for completion of the plastic hull, deck, rudder, wood and cardboard sections, propellers with shafts and tubes. The markings were intended to provide the illusion that the ship was further away and on a different heading which would cause a targeting officer to input inaccurate targeting data.

The wreck was located in June 1989 by Robert Ballard and has since been further surveyed by several other expeditions. Two days later, heading for occupied France to effect repairs, Bismarck was attacked by 16 Fairey Swordfish biplane torpedo bombers from the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal; one scored a hit that rendered the battleship's steering gear inoperable. Now moving to another level with Bismarck, I'm just building the basic structure but it really looks impressive just by its size and details. British torpedoes from the archaic bombers managed to strike the ship’s weakest point—its undefended rudders. At her commissioning in August of 1940, the Bismarck appeared as most any other battleship of the period with wood decks and a gray hull and upperworks with anti-fouling red below the waterline. There were so many detail parts on the standard-sized mold blocks intended for the kit to fit in a standard box that Monogram had to engineer this "outrigger" with remaining guns and upperworks deck piece.Separate boats, anchors, and lifeboat davits demonstrate the level of detail engineered into this kit. Much bigger than the Arizona, the Hood was the flagship of the British Fleet and the largest warship for 20 years. The courageous pilots in the biplanes’ open cockpits flew low so Bismarck’s sailors couldn’t train their guns, and the battleship’s anti-aircraft defences had trouble with the bombers’ slow speeds. It could also house four small aircrafts, and had a double-ended catapult to aid them with taking off. It sunk in the North Atlantic on the 27 th May 1941, and its wreckage wasn’t discovered until June 1989.
