Also, due to a construction with a removable connection inside of the earcup, I didn't sense any microphonics effect. Treble isolation is good, but as expected, the passive isolation only becomes effective past 400HZ and does not really block any low-bass frequencies. The P5 is not veiled-sounding in the strictest sense but it really doesn’t portray intimacy as well as the HD25 or MS400 can, which I feel has more to do with the way the soundstage works (more on that later).

With a much lighter clamping forces and thicker ear pads the On2 is the more comfortable of the two but there's not much in it. Truth be told, the P5 does have slightly better clarity and generally sounds smoother, leaner, and tighter than the MS400 but lacks the fullness of the Phiaton’s bass and the warm lushness of its midrange. When listening to 91 Days ED "Rain or Shine" by ELISA in FLAC, the overall experience becomes thick and kind of muffled, with the bass guitar overpowering the other instruments involved. The P5 Wireless deliver a balanced audio reproduction that caters well to bass and instrument-heavy music. The hinges are made out of metal and are twisted to give a unique look, with a cable running down from the headband to the earcup.

Regarding sound isolation, you do have to be realistic this is on-ear design which can't be compared to over-ear like P7, so you should still expect to hear outside noise though with a decent attenuation. The vocals here get the ideal level of bright, crisp high-mid and high frequency presence—things are clear, never too sibilant. It should be noted that the positioning of the P5 on the ear plays a role in how they sound – the optimal position for me turned out to be a bit further back than with something like the Sennheiser HD25-1 or Monster Beats Solo.

Technicalities aside, I found that this headphone is actually quite pleasing to listen to, and is suitable for today's modern genre. They look nearly identical to the company’s wired P5 on-ear headphones and with vaguely retro styling including chromed rods and black leather ear pads. Wired was close in comparison, but had just a little more depth in soundstage and a little more sub-bass.Upon originally extracting the P5 from the box, I was extremely surprised by how much larger the headphone looks in all of the photos I’ve seen. Listening to the live version of "Beethoven's Symphony 6" by Carlos Kleiber and the Bavarian State Orchestra gives a great sense of the area and collective instruments feeling rather epic. In the context of the P5’s laid-back sound signature, the lower mids are actually somewhat forward but next to the intimate-sounding MS400, the P5 still sounds slightly distant on the whole.
