William Rainy, from the M.E.’s office, arrived, examined Dayle, officially pronounced her dead, and had her body removed for autopsy.

Looking directly at him, her dark eyes unwavering, she told him it was an absolute mystery to her, and Carrillo believed her. He was an accurate judge of character, and he was sure Maria was telling the truth. He asked her if the AC/DC cap was hers or Dayle’s. She said it wasn’t. He asked her again to describe the man she’d seen in the garage. Fascinated by what he’d just done—the blood, her gaping wounds, his omnipotent power—he excited himself for nearly an hour, drinking glass after glass of water, the small, hot, humid room filling with the fetid smell of blood, sweat and death. On the night of July 2, 1985, Ramirez drove a stolen car to Arcadia and randomly selected the house of 75-year-old Mary Louise Cannon, a widowed grandmother. [62] After quietly entering Cannon's home, he found her asleep in her bedroom. He bludgeoned her into unconsciousness with a lamp and then stabbed her to death using a 10-inch butcher knife from her kitchen. [62] Ramirez repeatedly stabbed Cannon's body after she was already dead. [62] The first half of the book is great, following the 13 murders and couple of near fatal rape-assaults of Richard Ramirez in LA in 1984-1985. Though some might find him a more dynamic or interesting serial killer because of his allegiance to Satan; I find him more boring and more of a coward than most psychopath serial killers. The author Carlo pushes his oxymoronic subtle sermons (views/themes) all too often and almost seems to make excuses for how Ramirez came about. Richard hit his head and had epileptic fits when he was a boy. The government tested atomic bombs in New Mexico and the fallout effected all their children, some physical, maybe some mental. Richard witnessed a murder at 12. His dad yelled at him and had rage. His brothers were a bad influence. In fact, the only avenue in which Carlo doesn't exploit is Ramirez possibly being possessed (because I'm sure he doesn't himself believe in Heaven or Hell), which is surprising because of all the sensational roots to a serial killer demonic possession has the most appeal. Also, it wouldn't be far fetched because Richard believed Satan would protect him, drew pentagrams at some of the scenes of the crime, and made the victims he raped and murdered continuously swear to Satan as opposed to God. It was really important to me not to fall prey to what I felt like was false mythology,” said Tiller of the phenomenon. “This guy is not the Jim Morrison of serial killers. There’s nothing cool about this.” In Night Stalker, Russell paired the detectives’ recollections with family member testimonies to “deliberately not fall prey to the exploitative or sensationalistic nature of the Ramirez myth, by immersing you in the stories of these people whose lives were massively and dramatically and irrevocably impacted by Ramirez.”As he was pondering that question, he heard about the Veronica Yu murder and called up Tony Romero at the Monterey Park stationhouse so they could exchange notes. Right off, Carrillo felt it was the same guy. Romero told him one of his witnesses, a Jorge Gallegos, had got a few numbers of the license plate, and they were trying to find the car. Carrillo asked Romero to keep him posted. The Monterey Park detective said he would. Washington Valdez, Diana (June 8, 2013). Los Angeles sheriffs deputies John Powell and Anthony Dallus were working the six-to-two shift that night. They received a call of a woman shot at 10:57 Chainarong Khovananth – The 32-year-old was shot and killed while asleep in his home in Sun Valley in 20 July, 1985. It would have been nice if the author had given us the highlights of the trial, and not mixed in all the details about The Night Stalkers groupies and eventual wife in with the court transcripts. That should have been a section of the book unto itself.

At age 12, Ramirez was taken under the wing of his older cousin, Miguel "Mike" Ramirez, [12] a decorated Green Beret who himself had already become a serial killer and a rapist during his service in the Vietnam War. Mike often boasted of committing brutal war crimes and shared Polaroid photos with Ramirez showing Vietnamese women whom he had raped, murdered and dismembered or decapitated. [13] [14] Ramirez would later state while incarcerated that he was fascinated, rather than repulsed, by the images and stories Mike shared with him. Mike taught his young cousin some of his military skills, including stealth and kill tactics. [15] Around this time, Ramirez began to seek escape from his father's violent temper by sleeping in a local cemetery. [15] No, you didn’t. You follow me. Why? What you want? She stared at him with disbelief, her almond-shaped eyes dark and angry above a delicate, lovely jawline. Jennie Vincow – The 79-year-old was killed by Ramirez on 27 June, 1984, when he also burgled her home in Glassell Park LA.

Here's a good one - a real live human being said this by the way - Tamara has an altar to Richard in her bedroom. She supposedly sleeps in a coffin and has had her canine teeth filed into points. As if that's not enough I'll go on. Again, you don't belong here. You obviously have no life - why keep living in limbo? Move on. Please. A sergeant called him on the side two days later and said: Hey, Frank, you sure you want East L.A.? It’s a rough section— Mother . . . Mother, are you here? Mother? he called into the ominous silence. There was no response. With trepidation he walked toward Jennie’s bedroom, a feeling of dread welling up in him. The light in the bedroom was not good. Jennie was covered by a blanket. He grabbed it, lifted it, and saw the terrible destruction—the gaping, obscene wounds, the nearly detached head. He turned and ran from the apartment, yelling, My mother’s been murdered! Call the police! He went straight to the managers of the building, a married couple named Laui and Rene Trinque, and banged on their door, calling out, My mother’s been murdered. Oh, God, please call the police! As they entered the bedroom, they took note of a dresser in the room with its drawers open and things strewn all over. They moved closer and studied Jennie Vincow’s wounds. Homicide detectives all over the world are a hard lot; not much fazes them. But even for a homicide man, it is very unpleasant to see the murder of an elderly person.

Ricardo Leyva Muñoz Ramirez [5] was born in El Paso, Texas, on February 29, 1960, to Julián Tapia Ramirez (February 16, 1927 – August 19, 1991) and Mercedes Muñoz Ramirez (April 10, 1927 – April 12, 2016), the youngest of their five children. [6] [7] His father, a Mexican national and former policeman who later became a laborer on the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway, [8] was an alcoholic who was prone to fits of anger that often resulted in physical abuse towards his wife and children. [9] Ramirez began smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol at the age of 10. [10] Staying low, on the balls of his feet, he walked toward the bedroom and made out the form of Jennie Vincow, sleeping deeply under a brown-and-white plaid blanket, her breathing slow and labored. When he was sure she was alone, he took out a penlight and looked around the apartment. There was just about nothing worth stealing there, except, of course, Jennie Vincow’s soul ... Earlier that evening Dayle, fourteen days away from her thirty-fifth birthday, had been visiting her mom and dad, watching television and talking. She was very pleased at her recent promotion to traffic supervisor with Los Angeles County. Dayle was one of three children from a close, supportive, loving family. She had attended Pasadena City College. An avid skier, she was also taking classes in cake decorating, flower arranging, computer programming, and self-defense. Dayle was a highly motivated woman who loved life and made the most of it. She had saved hard to buy the condominium she now shared with Maria. Whether through retracing the police investigation, replaying the ample man-on-the-street local TV interviews, or reliving the feverish summer in cutaways to family members and bit players in the eventual arrest of Ramirez, Night Stalker aims for a tableau of Los Angeles, 1985, rather than a serial killer mystery. The story “became this tapestry of Los Angeles, and a portrait of place and time,” Russell said, the series thus about “the carnival of people … whose lives were affected by it.”American Horror Story: Ramirez is featured in the fifth and ninth seasons of the FX horror anthology series, initially being portrayed by Anthony Ruivivar and then later by Zach Villa. In the following years, he would leave more of these pentagrams behind, and would also tell his victims to “swear to Satan” instead of God. Maria Hernandez was a petite, attractive brunette with large round eyes and clear olive skin. He spotted her on the freeway as she was driving her gold Camaro home from dinner at her boyfriend’s in Monterey Park. As she left the freeway and made her way into the suburb of Rosemead—a lovely residential community of 46,000—he exited just behind her. US serial killer Richard Ramirez dies in hospital".
