We love all things creative and Miss Maskell came up with a brilliant idea- she suggested we bring out the clay! So, we made some shell print decorations with clay and we topped it up with a little bit glitter! We are never afraid to get get our hands dirty in Ruby Class! In Literacy, we have been reading Sally and the limpet by Simon James and this week, we helped Sally write a list of items she needs to go to the beach. We sorted beach items and we also made her a sun/ beach safety poster! For Science, we discussed floating and sinking. We then explored different objects to find out if they float or sink. Lastly, we celebrated Eid. We watched videos about Eid and made some Eid themed decorations such as mehndi hand designs and Eid cards. What a lovely way to end the week.

Leon and Bob won the Smarties Book Prize Silver Award and was the New York Times Best Illustrated Book of the Year, and Days Like This, a collection of small poems, was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal. Baby Brains has won numerous awards including the Picture Book prize and the Overall Winner at the Red house Children’s Book Award. His books have been published in over twenty languages around the world. Now, with over twenty titles, including the recent, George Flies South, Nurse Clementine and REX, Simon has established himself as a hugely popular picture book author for young readers today.

In PSHE, Jigsaw Jenie taught us how to be a good friend and make up with our friends when we fall out. We did a little bit of role play to show everyone what a being a good friend means.
