It’s definately not my favorite but mind you I usually only wear gourmands/oriental/spicy/green scents. I’m not really a lover of fresh scents but I grab this after a shower for the feeling of extra freshness or on a productive day. It does have a very sharp opening still, but it settles down after a minute or two. Philosophy Pure Grace has been a rare exception in my case. As such, it’s remained my go-to fragrance for almost 2 decades. For me, it’s pretty linear (which is more of a plus than a minus imho) once it dries down into a uniquely bright and fresh (while not venturing over into sharp territory) yet sensuous, not-too-sweet blend of florals and musk. On my skin it wears as a so-called skin scent, which is exactly what I want: a scent that works and blends with my body chemistry as a subtle enhancement, as if it becomes integrated with my natural scent, rather something sitting on top of my skin and unrelated to it, as if it were a piece of ill-fitting clothing. I don't think this is old fashioned, nor sexy, nor interesting, and certainly not memorable. But it's *nice* and clean, and finally my curiosity is satiated. I've smelled this before though, no doubt about it! It's very familiar, although I can't recall who it was on (it's actually driving me nuts). I have no doubt most people have encountered this somewhere, at some point. You'll probably think "Ohhhh...this! OK, I know this smell! 💡" I love the smell of fresh sheets and clothes imbued with the scent of the sun and the wind they've dried in. This fragrance captures that perfectly. It's an instant clean, fresh water feeling. Just lovely.

This fragrance gives me similar vibes of Blanche (Byredo), I don't know if I could call it a dupe of its own but certainly lovers of the genre should consider it as an affordable option. My husband once asked ”who used hair spray in here?” Few hours later he asked if I had a new perfume and that I smelled good. Another day he asked ”oh did you just take a shower?” Mind you.. it was wash day and I had not showered lol!! Hopefully Fragrantica might update the listings with the new bottles and specify more clearly which is the EDP and EDT... but in the meantime, I'm writing this review to clarify for myself. There are about five other fragrances that smell similar to "Amazing Grace" and I owned and gave away every last one:I went crazy over this when my friend started wearing it because she always smelled so fresh and clean and pretty. I know many people say the clean/fresh perfumes are boring, but to me, if your perfume wears YOU, you're doing it wrong. Anyway, I had to get a bottle based on how nuts I was for this scent, and I thought for sure I'd found my new go-to day fragrance. When I tried this on, my first impression was hand soap. Really nice hand soap, from the ladies' room of an upscale department store or something, but definitely soapy. Possibly a hint of sunscreen as well, although I'm not 100% sure. So the musk is pretty dominant at first, but some of the floral notes come through shortly after the initial spray. This is definitely a "fresh out of the shower" scent, so it's the kind of thing I would wear to the office or on a (casual, daytime) first date or just to hang out at my boyfriend's place to watch Netflix. It's the kind of fragrance that makes people think you just smell like that--they're more likely to guess that it's your shampoo, soap, or body lotion that's making you smell so good, and they would not expect it to be your perfume. It is very feminine, fresh, and clean; I imagine that the woman who wears this as a signature scent probably wears a lot of white and never worries that she might get a smudge of dirt on her skirt or a drip of sauce on her sweater--her immaculately clean house is painted in shades of cream and light beige, there are always fresh flowers on the credenza, and everything is just so. So for me, definitely an aspirational scent. Amazing Grace is really out of character for me, but I think if I can get past the soapy/sunscreen bit at the beginning, then it could be a promising addition to my collection, because it smells like #adulting and I honestly need that vibe in my life.

I find this a nondescript, inoffensive, floral-leaning musk. Not a musk bomb though...just an underwhelming, safe musk. I tested this today while helping teach Sunday school (because, c'mon...it's only fitting), and it's a good choice for situations like that. I doubt anyone smelled anything, and if they did, it would've been just subtly during a hug or something. Absolute soap scent. That I absolutely love! The lavender is prominent, so if you don't like lavender, skip this one. The notes I detect in this are water lily, lavender + soft dewy green notes & light musk. Nothing is overpowering, everything is soft like a breeze. 😊 But, no! I actually kinda super like this one. I think I prefer lily of the valley to freesia & that’s why it’s not a complete love for me- but it’s a nice cool firm freesia. It’s all very clean and the laundry musk is very nice. I just like my musks warmer, maybe? This seems more crisp, clean, folded than warm & fluffy. A little sharp & a little fast like a cool breeze- it’s really nice. I’m thinking I might try layering it with something a little warmer to slow it down. I didn't think soap though when i first smelled it although i now know by association what that's meant to mean, and I didn't like any of the other philosophy fragrances that were out at that time.My significant other got me this, specifically the EDP, for Christmas last year. He said he’d asked a friend for input and the friend recommended it because *his* wife wears it and he and SO both liked it on her. I don’t think I’d noticed it on her, but I like her general style, so I was looking forward to trying it. I do like this perfume but I don't love it like I thought I would. I wanted a real fresh laundry smell. If anyone knows of a perfume that smells like straight up laundry please let me know about it! But when i pulled on a pad, a whole tread of roots and more pads came along, including a precious flower. I've never tried or smelled the EDP, so I can't compare them. But when I do, I'll write an update. I'm not sure if I'll like the EDP better because it was a rose note, and I'm not a fan of a rose accord. But we'll see!

I was probably 4 or 5 years old, at my auntie's cottage in St-Côme QC, when I smelled my first water lily. If you cut "Lavender" out and put "Citrus" more, then it's gonna be "Philosophy Amazing Grace", really their smell are so similar in the way of another compounding note like musky, white flowers etc.At first I hated it. Upon first spray all I could detect was a sharp smell of chemicals almost like hair spray. After a while when it had settled down it turned to a floral soapy freshness. I don’t really smell any jasmine on me it smells more like lily of the valley.. maybe its my chemistry or my poor recognition of notes They have a clean, soapy smell, so they are perfect for spraying right after showering and moisturizing your skin. Lightly and soft, yet longevity are so long (12hrs it still lingers on your skin), but poor sillage, spray on your clothes can help to show more smell It's very nice. Something to put on after a shower and you will smell clean for 3-4 hours. Won't last all day and while it's most definitely not a "night-out" scent nor is it a "special occasion" fragrance...it's probably one of the BEST choices for your "casual jeans & T" or "running errands" scents.
